Electrolysis

What is it?

Electrolysis is the only form of hair removal that is permanent and it is safe on all hair colors and skin types. Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal that is FDA approved.

There are three different types of Electrolysis

The "original"type of electrolysis is called galvanic. Galvanic mixes with the salt and moisture in the skin to create a lye substance that breaks down the hair follicle.  Lye is what is needed to stop the hair from growing.

Thermolysis is the second type of electrolysis. It uses heat and vibrations to break down the hair follicle.

Blend This modality uses a combination of galvanic and thermolysis.

Nobody's hair is alike so I will design a treatment plan to accommodate the area, type of hair and your skin type.

How does it Work?

A small probe is inserted into the hair follicle. The probe is the same size of the hair being treated and shouldn't be felt by the client. Then the follicle is treated with either thermolysis, galvanic or the blend. Our goal is to eliminate the follicle and the blood supply.

How does Electrolysis Feel?

What should I except?

There are clients that experience minimal discomfort during electrolysis. Some say it feels "like a small prick" or "hot and stingy" however everybody's comfort level is different so please communicate with me so we can find the right settings for your skin and comfort level. It is normal to have a little redness after a treatment, however it should be gone within a few hours.

How Often Should I Get Electrolysis

As long as your budget and time allows you'll need to come back every 1-2 weeks because we want to treat the hair in the growth cycle where it's attached to the blood vessel. This happens in the first 1-2 weeks of new hair growth. The hair I treat you will not see again for 4-6 weeks.   I will always start in the same spot whenever you come in to ensure the hair is in the right growth cycle.

How to Prepare for your Appointment?

Try your best to avoid caffeine before your appointment since it can increase sensitivity. Please  drink a lot of water at least 1-2 days beforehand. The more hydrated you're the better your treatment will be!
